This Orders & Returns Policy ("Policy") outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations, refunds, and returns related to services and products offered on the BookFylo Platform.
BookFylo operates as an online distribution service provider, facilitating self-publishing services for authors and publishers, and enabling the sale of print-on-demand (POD) books. Our policies are designed to be fair and transparent, reflecting the automated nature of our services and the unique characteristics of print-on-demand manufacturing.
This section applies to the purchase of physical books, whether by end-consumers or by authors/publishers (including author copy orders) through the BookFylo Platform.
1.1. No Cancellations:
Due to the automated and on-demand nature of our printing process, once a physical book order (including consumer purchases and author copy orders) has been placed and sent to our printing partners, it immediately enters production. Therefore, orders for physical books cannot be cancelled once confirmed.
1.2. Damaged or Defective Items:
We are committed to delivering high-quality products. If you receive a physical book that is damaged during shipping or has a manufacturing defect (e.g., missing pages, blurred text, incorrect binding), you are eligible for a replacement.
1.3. Incorrect Items Shipped:
If you receive a physical book that is different from what you ordered, you are eligible for a replacement.
1.4. No Returns or Refunds for Other Reasons:
Given the custom, print-on-demand nature of our books, we do not offer returns or refunds for reasons other than a book being damaged during shipping, having a manufacturing defect, or being an incorrect item shipped. This includes situations such as buyer’s remorse, accidental orders, changes of mind, or errors introduced by an author in the manuscript or cover; such issues are not considered manufacturing defects. All sales are final once an order is confirmed, except for issues related to damage, defect, or incorrect fulfillment.
1.5. Specifics for Author Copy Orders:
Orders for author copies, while often provided at a discounted price, are subject to the same terms as all other physical book purchases under this Section 1. This means:
This section applies to the on-demand services provided by BookFylo to authors and publishers for uploading, formatting, listing, and managing their books on the Platform.
2.1. Nature of Self-Publishing Services and Refunds:
BookFylo provides immediate access to tools and resources for self-publishing upon purchase or activation of a service. Due to the digital and immediate nature of these services, fees paid for self-publishing services are generally non-refundable once the service has been accessed or utilized. This applies to all one-time fees for specific services.
2.2. Service Failures:
In the rare event that a paid self-publishing service fails to perform as advertised due to a technical issue on BookFylo’s part, we will endeavor to rectify the issue promptly. Depending on the nature and impact of the failure, BookFylo may, at its sole discretion, offer a credit for future services or other appropriate compensation. A cash refund for the service itself is generally not provided once the service has been accessed.
BookFylo reserves the right to cancel any book order or discontinue any self-publishing service at its sole discretion, with or without prior notice, under the following circumstances:
3.1. No Liability for Cancellation:
BookFylo will not be liable for any losses, damages, or inconvenience incurred by the user as a result of cancellations initiated by BookFylo under this Policy, except for the refund of unfulfilled portions as described within this section.
